September 1 - 8, the Campus Life Office and the cashiers at each campus will accept cash donations or checks made out to PPCC (memo line: American Red Cross Disaster Relief). Thursday, Sept 1 between all three campuses, PPCC students and employees raised $2544.81!!

The Band Plays On...

PPCC held a Mardi Gras party in the Centennial Atrium as a fundraiser for students wanting to help victims of Katrina featuring Dick Cunico’s Little Big Band. Donations may be made at any Campus Life Office through Thursday, Sept. 8. Checks may be made out to PPCC (memo line: American Red Cross Disaster Relief) with all contributions sent to that relief fund. For further information, you may contact Megan Boyle, coordinator of Student Activities, at 540-7106.



A Message From the President
Did you know that, as a community college student, you're in pretty exceptional company? No, seriously. Community college students are extraordinary people who accomplish extraordinary things. One recent example in the news is Eileen Collins, Commander of the space shuttle Discovery "Return to Flight" mission. Commander Collins is the only woman to command a space shuttle mission, but, in another way, she is just like you. She was a community college student. ...more
Women's Re-Entry to PPCC
Jane Abbott, Ph.D., and founder of the Women's Re-Entry program, which numbers about 250 female students at PPCC, considered herself a re-entry student at one time. Abbott, who also is PPCC Dean of Library Services and Educational Effectiveness, said, "I had two degrees - a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in English Literature - yet I was still a returning student. I felt intimidated and nervous after having had a life-changing event." ...more

Tip-A-Cop
Most people don't expect to be greeted by a police officer when they go out to eat, but that's what happened recently at the four Red Robin locations in Colorado Springs when restaurant-goers were greeted at the door by a police officer during the second annual Tip-A-Cop to raise funds for the Colorado Special Olympics. ...Photos and more
