Saving Face
My target sat on the tan sofa, pounding away on her Game Boy Advance. She didn't look up as I entered the room. I decided to sit next to her. Angela is my younger sister by two years.

Beginnings are always hectic. We sped down the highway, leaving ghost-trails of past and present. Future became the rock weighing down my chest with ever-increasing intensity. I couldn't breathe. We were going to meet Dow Mossman....more
Gone Postal
Buried deep in the Rocky Mountains and nestled deep on national forest land is an unpaved dirt road winding through a beautiful canyon with towering walls. The road crosses back and forth over a medium-sized creek. Tall trees reached toward the blue sky, and the gentle breeze makes its way down the canyon. At the end of the rough dirt road is a rustic cabin nestled up against a canyon wall, nearly vertical with red-toned rocks. Off the back side of the cabin is a deck overlooking the creek that runs just feet from the deck.......more
Mate Madness
As I walked into the Maté Factor, every sense told me that there was something different about the place. The wooden door scraped across the planked floors worn smooth by hundreds of customers and the smell of freshly baked bread filled my nose. Even in the broad daylight the lighting is ambient augmenting the relaxing quality of the mandolin music softly plinking in the background through unseen speakers.

Spain Cherishes Its Time for Relaxation
The following are simply observations from a girl who was raised in America for the last 18 years and visited Spain for only two weeks. Two prospering countries, the United States and Spain, emphasize different themes while trying to maintain the ultimate goal of peace. Americans value the idea of freedom; whereas, Spain's culture cherishes the concept of relaxation. On March 11, 2004, Spain experienced an extremely devastating event, successful terrorist attacks on their trains as they journeyed between cities....more
