300: Finally, A Truly Inspiring Movie
Finally, a strong, inspiring, historical (although stylized a bit) story is being told throughout movie theaters everywhere. Frank Miller’s new movie, 300, is shattering opening weekend records across the country. Many are confused as to why a movie featuring a cast of unknowns about a battle few knew even happened is so popular. Today, I will tell you why. Allow me to be the voice of the masses...more

Inmates vs. Illegal Immigrants
Finally, a change is coming. As more and more illegal immigrants are being discovered and deported, a choice is now available for farmers. Instead of turning around and re-hiring more illegals, the state of Colorado is attempting to follow in Arizona’s footsteps and offer inmates a chance to work on these very same farms. Merits to Marijuana

Perhaps no one thing in society today comes with as much stigma as drug use. Long the poster-children for all things rebellious, destructive, and dark, drug users and dealers have come to epitomize much that is wrong with society. Drugs have been blamed for the destruction of the lives of many American teens and adults, and have come to be the center of much scandal and controversy...more

Grade Retention, is it worth it?
Grade retention requires students to repeat a grade in order to pick up what wasn’t learned the first time. This has been a growing concern in recent years. Considering the high number of students all across the country that are held back each year suggests that many people are not aware of the harm that goes along with it. Researcher, Lisa Bowman investigated the retention policies in schools, the cost of retention, issues that contribute to retention, the effects of retaining students, and alternatives to retention...more
