Job Description:
Check students in & out of the open labs. Assist students, faculty, & patrons with all aspects of computer lab usage, check out equipment/software, data-entry, filing, answering phones, keep lab cleaned and organized, other projects as assigned, & the ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet or acknowledge all students, faculty, & patrons as they enter the open lab.
- Check students, faculty, and patrons in & out of the open labs.
- Monitor open labs to assure proper usage of equipment.
- Assure all lab procedures, rules and regulations are followed & enforced.
- Communicate all issues, incidents and problems to the Lab Coordinator on a daily basis.
- Check-out hardware, software, and peripherals for in lab use (i.e. headphones, adding machines, dictaphones, & in-lab student software).
- Assist students & patrons with basic "How to questions".
- Help Faculty with in-class questions or problems (A300, A309, E203, E204 & N106a).
- Assist in the training of new employees on the standard operating procedures of Learning Technologies.
- Keep lab cleaned and organized.
- Data-entry
- Filing
- Answering phones
- Other projects that involve IT Support Services as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be Financial Aid qualified (Awarded Work-study Funds).
- Must be able to work one Saturday, Sunday or an evening shift a week.
- Must be Customer Service oriented.
- Must be a Team Player
- Computer literacy preferred (Training provided)
- The ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
- The ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Flexibility is a major plus.
- Available to work multiple shifts
- Ability to travel between campuses Opportunities:
- The possibility to be the lead Computer Lab Assistant with a guarantee of 20 hrs a week at a higher pay rate.

We are looking for workstudy peer tutors in math, English, Accounting, Business Math, Computer Information Systems and other areas. If you are patient, like your subject area, enjoy working with faculty and helping other students, then call the Ed Quesada, the Tutoring Coordinator. 540-7129, or drop by A308, LRC top floor.
There are mandatory training dates. Peer tutors can not be on suspension or probation, and must have a faculty endorsement. Beginning pay is $7.75 to 8.25, depending on experience.
